Unemployed Youths in Society

Youth Unemployment : A Global Problem

  • Unemployment is affecting young men in almost all regions of the world.
  • The unemployment among the youth is commonly associated with various problems like high crime rate among the youth and riots. The youths have remained unemployed because of various social challenges that face the youths. These include laziness among the youth which makes them not to desire to search for employment hence, they remain unemployed for long durations because of such social elements. These two fundamental outcomes of unemployment could result in the social breakdown when they reach unmanageable levels. Joblessness remains the fundamental cause of the social evils commonly associated with high unemployment levels. These social problems cannot be predicted when they will occur, but they certainly will occur when the unemployment becomes uncontrollable.
  • The Social Ambassador Programme focusses on the wider ways in which it can support learners such as recognising wider achievements, creating learning pathways on how to develop the Young Workforce and giving equality between vocational and academic qualifications. The approach is through conducting life skills development, career guidance and mentoring sessions to emphasise the need of identifying student interests and developing their skills to transform their passion into a gainful employment and potentially further education in their chosen field.
